FAA's advice to Galaxy Note 7 users: Not to turn on or charge their phones on board a plane.

We've been hearing reports about note 7's exploding. whether it be when the phone is charging or the consumer is just normally using it. Several people have analyzed that this is caused by a defect in the battery.

However untill Samsung fixes this mayhem , Someone had to do something about it. Therefore the U.S Federal Aviation Authority officially announced that Note 7 users should not charge or turn on their Devices while on board a plane. The rumors which sprung up stating that the note 7 was banned from all flights, those were just a hoax.

In light of recent incidents and concerns raised by Samsung about its Galaxy Note 7 devices, the Federal Aviation Administration strongly advises passengers not to turn on or charge these devices on board aircraft and not to stow them in any checked baggage.

Therefore the FAA strongly advises everyone with a note 7 to be safe and be cautious with their note 7's , For the time being at least.

Apple watch 2 released with swim friendly design and in built GPS

Apple has released the  next version of the Apple watch with quite a few upgrades. To start off , as you might have guessed from the title, The Apple watch v2.0 is waterproof up to 50 meters of water. This is great for swimmers as they can do all the stuff they could do on land , in water. The Apple watch even has two separate options for this. An option for swimming pools and then an option for open water i.e lakes and oceans.

Apple also changed the screen on this years model and they claim that this display is 2 times brighter than its predecessor offering up to 1,000 nits of brightness. Apple also claims that this is the brightest display that they have used in any of their devices.

In the performance department there is now a new second generation dual core S2chip processor which Apple says is 50% faster than the previous generation. There is also a new gpu on board which provides with two times the graphic performance

Getting in shape with the Apple watch 2 strapped onto your wrist will be a spectacular experience. Last year's model wasn't up to par in the fitness department as it lack an in built GPS and questionable heart rate data. However this years model has improved o both of these things. There is also a mode for swimming where the watch lets you record how many laps you have swam or the average pace at which you are swimming.

With a new watch there is bound to be a new Os, At least in this case it is. There are plenty of new watch faces, the introduction to Instant Launch, a new dock , Apples new breath app and host of new features on the Watch Os 3.0. All in all, there is plenty to look forward to.

In terms of pricing and availability , the watch will cost $369 for both the series 2 and nike edition. It'll be available in Gold, Rose Gold, Silver and space grey Aluminum with Silver or Space black stainless steel cases. Pre-orders start on the 9th of September and you can officially pick one up on the 16th of September.

Dual cameras and much more on the Iphone 7 Plus.

Every year Apple decides to do something new and step out of its comfort zone. This year Apple did the same thing by placing not one but two cameras on the back of the Iphone 7 Plus. This by far is the biggest attraction of the iphone 7 Plus.

Camera
 

The two cameras work simultaneously to provide 2x optical zoom similar to what lg did on its g5. One of the camera on the Plus is the "wide" angle camera and the other one is the "telephoto" camera. Both the Cameras are of 12Mp resolution and the cameras can combine the shot taken by both the cameras to provide a shallow depth of field and give a more dslr type look to the picture. Whats even cooler is that you can actually see the shallow depth of field effect in real time before taking the shot itself. However this isnt something new in its entirety as we've seen this done before on phones from htc,nokia and lg.

According to Apple the new shooters are 60% more faster and 30% more efficient. The cameras on the iphone 7 Plus are optically stabilized and have a 6 element lens along with a quad LED setup to aid in Low light situations. The camera has an aperture of f/1.8 while the telephoto camera has a rather slow f/2.8 opening. The selfie camera also received a bump from 5Mp to 7Mp and can also record videos in 1080p now.

Hardware
 With this years iteration of the Iphone , Apple decided to give the phone a new and polished design. Apple has managed to make the glass and the metal on the phone to fit in as if it was one seamless piece if hardware. The camera bump now has been carved straight from the aluminum on the back and the Iphone 7 Plus also now sports a stainless steel Apple logo on its back. Furthermore the antenna lines have been removed from the back and have been placed on the top and bottom edges of the phone , thus making it more clear and chic. The screen is still the same 5.5 inch one found on the iphone 6s.

There are a few new colors that Apple announced with this years iphones

  
 You can choose from Jet black, Black, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold variants of the phone.
Apple has finally ditched the mechanic home button of years past and decided to place a capacitive button instead with the fingerprint reader embedded inside of it. There should be haptic feedback present when you press on the home button and the home button will also be pressure sensitive.

One of the most controversial decisions Apple made this year was removing the headphone jack all together from the phone. However Apple will be providing Lightning earpods as well as a 3.5mm to lightning adapter with the Iphone 7 Plus itself. You can also use Bluetooth earphones but good quality Bluetooth earphones can be quite expensive. If you're into that sort of thing , then by all means go for it. Apple even released their own earpods(Bluetooth earphones made by apple) which again are super expensive for normal daily use.

Another feature in this year's iphone is that the phone boasts dual speakers now. One speakers is at its usual position, at the bottom and the second one is at the top , hidden under the earpiece. Apple now also promises that the new speakers will be twice as loud from the speakers of last generation.

 
 The Phone now also has an Ip67 rating which means that it'll survive in under a meter of water for about an hour.

 Performance
The new iphone comes with the new A-10 fusion chip which happens to be a quad core chipset. Two of its cores are high performance cores and the other two are battery saving ones. The Gpu has also been upgraded and according to Apple it is now 50% more faster than the gpu found with the A9 chip in the Iphone 6s.

Pricing
You can buy the base 32gb model for $769 and then can bump up to 128 or 256gb according to your needs. Note that the Jet black variant only comes in the 128 and 256gb variants. Pre-orders start on the 9th of September and you can pick up the phone on September 16th.

The Apple Iphone 7 is official with water resistance and much more!

The Apple Iphone 7 was released quite a few hours ago and this time apple is surely out of its comfort zone.

1.Design

To start off there have been subtle but at the same time prominent changes from the iphone 6 and the 6s. There are no more antenna lines on the back of the device ,rather now they are on the top and bottom edges. This makes the Phone look a lot more "Cleaner". The Phone is also much more rounded and looks more like an Ipod of a previous generation rather than an iphone. Other than this , the Home button is also now not clickable as it is capacitive. However it will be pressure sensitive, so that is another thing that has changed from last years iphone 6s. There are also more color options this year. you can choose from Jet Black, Black, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold. 

 2. Water Proofing

 Apple this year too, decided to get in the game of water proofing their phones. To be more specific , The Iphone 7 duo is now Ip67 rated which means that it would survive under a meter of water for just about an hour. This also means that there is no headphone port on the iphone 7 now. Many consumers have complained about this as previously, having a headphone jack in a phone wasn't a "Feature". It apparently is now. However apple will be providing with the box a pair of lightning earpods and a lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter. This would mean that you cannot charge and listen to media at the same time. You can always buy Bluetooth headphones but the quality of those headphones can be a bit different than wired headphones (in a bad way).

 

3.Camera

The Iphone 7 features updated camera optics. The phone sports a 12Mp camera with f1.8 aperture and a 6 element lens coupled with optical image stabilization .According to Apple the camera is now 60% faster and 30% more efficient than previous generations of iphones.The LED's are also updated and now the phone is equipped with 4 of them.

 

The front facing camera has also been boosted to 7Mp and can record 1080p video.


4.Display

The iphone 7 keeps the 4.7 inch display of last year's iphone 6s but is now more brighter and has a wider color gamut however it was not specified how much the color gamut has changed since last year.Apple also hinted at an updated 3d touch layer but the details about this were scarce.

5.Performance
 Apple this time round put their new generation A-10 fusion chip in the iphone 7. this means that the new iphone runs on a quad core chipset. 2 of them being high performance cores and the other two being the power saving ones. According to Apple they run two times faster than their A9 chip and four times faster than their A8 chip.There is also a new gpu in store. the Iphone 7 boasts a 6 core gpu which is 50% faster than the gpu found with the A9 chipset.

6.Pricing and Availability
The Iphone starts at $649 for the base 32gb model  however you can also buy the 128 or 256 gb models.$749 for the 128 gig variant and $849 for the 256 gig variant.The iphone 7 and Iphone 7 Plus will be available on September 16th , with pre-orders starting from the 9th of September.

What to expect. Apple Iphone release event.

The time has finally arrived when Apple will be releasing the next generation of iphones. This year being the year of the Iphone 7 duo. The event is still a few hours away but this would be a good time to round up all the info collected on the Iphone 7.

This year in terms of design we'll be seeing a change in Apple's tradition. there will be no antenna lines this year and the Iphone resembles the ipod a lot.  There is also now a less obtrusive camera bump on the back and the biggest change of all, THERE WILL BE NO HEADPHONE JACK. Yes, you read that right, Apple this year decided to go all out and remove the headphone jack. So now Apple will be giving away with the iphone 7 , wireless earphones instead of normal earpods. Other than this there will also be a pressure sensitive home button which is not clickable. This home button will also be the Fingerprint sensor.

There will be two models of the Iphone 7, The normal Iphone and then the Plus model. There will be certain key features that will differ in the two phones. The Display being the biggest of them. The second feature being the dual cameras present on the Plus model. The normal Iphone will only have just the single primary shooter.

The Plus will have 3 gigs of ram while the normal will have only 2 gigs. Both the models will come in 32/128 or 256 gb of internal storage. There have also been rumors that the new iphone will be Ipx7 certified , if that is true then this would make the iphone 7 waterproof in under a meter of water. However nothing is confirmed until Apple officially releases the iphone in a couple of hours.

According to reports , there will be five color options for the Iphones of this year. Matt black and Glossy Piano Black are among them. The light blue color variant of the phone is a mystery. Rumor has it that it will not release in the U.S or maybe Apple wont release a light blue variant at all. who knows. All we can do now is anxiously wait for Apple to give us the next big thing. However many argue if Apple has lost their touch in recent years. Lets see then what Apple has to offer us. The event starts at 10 a.m.PDT (7 p.m. CEST). Instagram to remove Photo Map feature.

Instagram is planning to remove its photo map feature and has now started to slowly phase out this aspect of the app. The feature essentially allowed you to see geotagged photos posted by you or others , on the map.All the photos in one particular area were grouped together and when zoomed in the exact area was shown for every picture taken.

You can still see geotagged photos posted by your own account but cannot view photos on the map posted by other users. According to Instagram , not enough people were using this feature so they just decided to drop it all together. If you were not aware that this feature existed in the app then you are just proving Instagram's point.

If you click on the locations mentioned on a post then you would still be able to see all the photos taken in that area but the Photo map section from the profile of a user has been removed.

Lg just made the Lg V20 official!

The day has finally arrived when the much awaited Lg V20 has been released. The Lg V20 Improves many aspects of the previous generation while also keeping all the features that made the V10 a fan favorite.

As you can see from the picture above , the ruggedness that was present on the v10 is now gone and the device adopts a look similar to the Lg g5. However according to Lg this phone is made from a alloy that is also used to build airplanes and boats. Thus , this phone is durable and light weight!

The Lg V20 does take some design aspects from the Lg g5 but one thing that it didnt take is the modularity of the G5. Instead of a removable chin, the v20 has a replaceable back and a replaceable battery. There is also a fingerprint sensor just below the two cameras.

The screen is the same on the v20 . A 5.7 inch Qhd IPS LCD however Lg did change the secondary display a bit. The brightness is now bumped up to 68 nits and the display is generally longer than the display found on the v10.

In the performance side of things , the V20 sports a Snapdragon 820 with 4 gigs of ram and 64 gigs of internal memory which is also expandable via micro Sd cards.It has the same camera setup as the g5 with a 16Mp OIS camera with laser and phase detection auto focus accompanied by a secondary 8Mp fixed focus wide angle camera capable of capturing 135 degree shots. There is only one selfie camera now with a resolution of 5Mp. However this one camera can take both normal and wide angle selfies so a win win situation here.

The phone also comes with a built in D.A.C (Digital to Audio Converter) and this makes the sound coming out of the c20 sound that much better whether it be from the headphone jack or the speakers. Powering all of this is a large 3,200 mAh removable battery also capable of quick charge 3.0.

The V20 is the first phone to run Android 7.0 out of the box. With this comes all the goodies that come with Android Nougat like the dual window feature baked into the base software.

The Lg v20 will be available in Titan, Pink and Silver colors and will be available for purchase by the end of this month. Pricing of the device is still not known but since the v20 is coming to all major U.S carriers, the carriers may price the device differently. Blue tint on The Iphone 7 not be as saturated as previously rumored.

While many rumors stated that there would be a blue color variant of this year's Iphone 7 and Iphone 7 Plus, The exact color was not specified i.e the exact shade of blue. However that mystery has been solved as a real picture of this blue colored Iphone was leaked earlier today. Have a look at it yourselves

The shade seems to be on the lighter side of blue , infact much lighter than originally thought. However there also seem to be rumors now that Apple won't release the blue color variant of the Iphone 7 duo at all due to the fact that the "blue" color might chip off easily.

The original colors that were thought to be released of the Iphone 7 duo were Silver, Space grey Gold and Rose Gold. So, All we can do now is wait and see what Apple has to offer us. The release event will be held tomorrow so we'll find out if all the many rumors about this year's Iphones are true or just plain old hoaxes.

Meizu M3 Max unvieled.

Today Meizu released another one of its affordable devices, the M3 max. The Device sports a Mediatek Helio P10 processor with octa core 1.8ghz clock speed. In terms of gpu , the M3 max has a Mali T860. As you may have guessed , due to the device being a  "max"  there is a 6 inch full hd screen on the front to work with.

It comes with 3 gigs of ram and 64gb of internal storage, which is further expandable through an sd card. The battery inside also measures at 4,100 mAh that also supports fast charging. In terms of the shooters, there is a primary 13Mp camera on the back and a 5Mp secondar camera on the front. And if you're wndering, yes the home button is also a fingerprint sensor.

As you can see, the device will be coming in a variety of rather cool colors. Specifically Champagne Gold, Silver, Grey and Rose Gold. The m3 max will be running meizu's own inhouse skin on top of android marshmallow. The skin being Flyme Os version 5.2 

The phone has bee made official in China for about RMB 1,699 which translates to roughly around $255. The m3 max will be made available for purchase in China on September 15th and pre orders will go live on the 12th of September.

Iphone 7 Plus to have dual cameras , IPx7 rating and 3gigs of ram.

The Iphones of 2016 are just mere days away from launching and more reports have just come in , possibly unveiling the specs of the Bigger Phone of the bunch, The Iphone 7 Plus.

The report states that the Iphone 7 plus will have 2 gigs of ram while the Plus model will have 3 gigs of ram , the extra gigabyte is probably there to handle the dual camera setup. Speaking of the camera , the Iphone 7 Plus is said to sport two 12 Mp cameras on the back. One camera will have larger pixels and  6 element wide angle lense while the other camera will have a longer 5 element lense. The normal iphone will just have the one 12 Mp primary camera accompanied by A 4 lED flash. 

There will also be three storage options for the phone. A 32gb/3gb variant , a 128gb variant and a whopping 256 gb variant.Note that all Plus variants will have the same amount of ram, 3 gigs of it precisely.The headphone jack on the other hand will be gone as was suggested by several rumors however lightning earpods and a 3.5mm jack adapter will be bundled with the Phone itself. 

The home button is now said to be pressure sensitive so no clicking there and the IPx7 rating means that the phone should survive under a meter of water for half an hour.

While Sony was hoarding all the attention at IFA this year Acer decided to release a product if its own that would turn heads. Yes thats right folks, Acer at IFA released the "Worlds thinnest laptop". Measuring at only a centimeter thick the Acer Swift 7 is incredibly sleek and portable.

This feature would make it perfect for the people that have portability in their primary checklist. The Laptop is however made of plastic and this plastic attracts fingerprints, which are pretty hard to wipe off once there. Due to it being made from plastic , the laptop only weighs about 1kg. That is incredibly lightweight and perfect for anyone looking to keep this device as an accessory. 

On the performance side of things , The Swift 7 runs on an Intel core i5 processor with 8 gigs of ram and 256 gigs of ssd storage. Again, perfect for anyone looking to buy a laptop for casual use anywhere anytime.The laptop is also equipped with a full HD 1080p 13.3inch screen . Unfortunately there's no touch screen to take advantage of the sleek profile of the device.

One of the most noticeable features of the swift 7 is its mouse-pad. Unlike most windows laptops, the swift 7 has an abnormally large mouse-pad but this seems to be a good thing as i find that most laptops have rather small mouse-pads where my fingers just slides off the whole thing. 

The Acer Swift 7 can be had for just under a buck of a thousand dollars. that's $999 for someone who didn't understand. Camera details for the Google Pixel XL leaked.

As we all know Google is planning on releasing its two new phones now to be named the Pixel and the Pixel XL on the 4th of october. We now also know some camera specs of the larger of the two phones , The Pixel XL.

A recent report from a trusted leakster states that both the cameras on the Pixel Xl will have a Sony sensor on board.The main camera will sport 12megapixels pf resolution and have the Sony IMX378 sensor while the shooter on the front will be of the 8 megapixel variety and will sport the Sony IMX179 sensor.

The smaller phone, The Pixel , could share the same configuration of the Pixel Xl like last years nexus 5x borrowed from its bigger sibling the nexus 6p. However nothing is confirmed as of yet and today's rumor only mentioned the details of the Pixel Xl.

The LG v20 will come in three colours

There have been many rumors surrounding the new Lg flagship and today theres one more to add to the much hyped phone. A report says that the Lg v20 will come in three colors.The names of the colors are somewhat "Playful" but sadly there are no previews of the colors themselves.

Google's ambitious Project Ara suspended

As we all know google was working on its Project Ara for quite a while now in fact google this year on Google I/O even said that the developer edition of the phone will be made available this fall. That however is now not happening as a recent support suggests that google has canned the project.

While this may be bad news for many , there is also a good news in store. The report also says that google may license Ara's technology to others , opening up the possibility of modular phones from other companies. Motorola maybe?

Successors to Google's Nexus will be the Pixel and Pixel XL

A rumor arose earlier this week that the nexus brand may get a new successor. That now seems to be the case as another report just came in stating that the two new phones from google this year will be named under the "Pixel" brand and not the Nexus brand.

The smaller of the two phones , the Sailfish will be named "Pixel" and the 5.5 inch phone ,the Marlin, will be named "Pixel XL". Just to recap , google has already released its new software way before it released the successors to last year's Nexus 5x and 6p. Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact already up for pre-order.

As we all know by now Sony released its new flagship device along with its compact device of the year but we still didn't know anything about when Sony would make it available for the consumers to buy. Well the answer is here folks. 

First up , Amazon UK is offering both the phones for pre-order. The Xperia XZ can be had for £599.99 and the smaller of the bunch, the Xperia X compact can be had for £379. The Xperia X compact is going to ship out on the 28th f September but there's still now word out on when the flagship, The Xperia XZ, is going to be made available.

Sony releases another compact device. The Sony Xperia X compact.

Sony today released another sony flagship, the Sony Xperia XZ. As it goes with sony devices , A compact accompanies the bigger flagship phone. Sony therefore also unveiled the Sony Xperia x compact.

This is a smaller version of the Xperia X and not the XZ so we're getting the same Snapdragon 650 as on the Xperia X and pretty much everything is the same except the screen size of course. In tems of waterproffing , sadly this does not have any kind of IP rating.The device is however thick at 9.5mm to accommodate the powerful hardware and large battery inside but thanks to the rounded profile of the phone it seems a lot thinner than it actually is.

The Xperia X compact is however not made of metal or glass and is constructed from plastic, Sony says that the design was ceramic inspired but that doesn't seem to be the case here. However being made of plastic the phone will definitely be a lot lighter which supports its compact design.

The Sony Xperia X compact will sport the snapdragon 650 , a 4.6 inch 720p screen and 3 gigs of ram. These specs are perfect for the size of the phone and given we're only working with a 720p screen , the performance should be much smoother.On the Optics side, the phone is equipped with a 23 megapixel rear shooter capable of shooting 4k video and a 5 megapixel front facing shooter for those selfies.

The Xperia X Compact also adopts the new trend of 2016 that is USB type C and not micro USB of years past. This also supports qualcolm's quickcharge technology for those times when time is at a leash.

The phone will be priced between the Sony xperia X and the Xpera X performance but the phone will launch very soon before the IFA expo so we'll hear about the price very soon.What do you think about the new compact device from Sony?

Nexus phones to be discontinued

If recent reports on the internet are true then the nexus 5x and the nexus 6p of last year are the last of the nexus's.

 As we all know there have been many leaks of the new "nexus" phones that Htc is making but now rumors claim that the phones may not have any branding at all. Not the htc logo on it and not the nexus logo on it. Nexus phones are pretty much known for their distinctive "Nexus" logo on the back but now if its going away , maybe we'll see a new brand start withing Google.

Nexus phones had stock google software pre loaded and thats what made them special. However as we can see google is planning to change that as it has released the new google launcher ,which if rumors are true , will only be present on the new google phones. Also we've heard that google is planning to change the ui for the new phones coming out. Nexus phones were known for "stock pure android" but now for the upcoming phones google stated "the phones will come out with tweaked vanilla interface and additional software".

Corning releases new Gorilla Glass SR+ for wearbales.

Corning today released a new product, the Gorilla Glass SR+. This new variant is especially designed for wearables such as smartwatches and smart bands.

 According to corning ,the Gorilla Glass SR+ has 70% better damage resistance and 25% better surface reflection as compared to previous alternatives used on wearables. Corning also says that it achieves scratch resistance coating that of "alternative luxury cover metals" (probably sapphire crystal).

The improved optics now means better readability due to less reflections outdoors and idoors. It also means less brightness is needed and this can affect the battery , thus improving battery life in the process.

The Gorilla Glass SR+ is expected to be present on the upcoming smart wearables later this year.

Apple to officially release the next gen of Iphones on the 7th of Sept.

As it was initially rumored , Apple is going to hold an event on the 7th of September for the unveiling of the new set of IPhones.  As you can see the by the picture above the invite is pretty simple but it still manages to instill some suspense by telling us the exact date of the launch event.

Although there have been countless rumors and renders of the new upcoming iphones , we still have no clear idea what to expect as apple has kept everything under wraps. We might be seeing just two IPhones instead of three like rumored before and the name might not even be the same. Recent reports suggest that these new iphones my be called the IPhone 6SE and the IPhone 6SE plus.

However all this should be taken with a grain of salt as nothing is still confirmed as of yet. The only thing that is, is the date for the launch event.  So all that is left for us to do now is to sit back and count the days in suspense!
