Perhaps one of the biggest fears a note 7 user has is that their phone is going to explode at any point in time. The second most biggest fear that they now have is that if they actually do give their note 7's for the recall, they'll get a Galaxy J in exchange. That is, for the time period till they get back their new Note 7 handsets.
However if you do own a note 7 then no need to worry as Samsung has got you covered. There is another option if you want to exchange your galaxy Note 7. You can exchange your Note 7 with a Galaxy s7 or an s7 edge. Furthermore you will get a refund for the additional accessories of the Note 7. Do note that if you exchange the note 7 for a Galaxy s7 or the edge, then you will not be able to get the replacement version of the Note 7 once it has been approved and released.
Also note that either option will get you a $25 gift card from Samsung (for the inconvenience) , $25 in store credit or bill credit. So to recap, you'll get two options if you want to trade in your note 7 for the recall. You can either get a Galaxy J series "loaner" model for daily use until the new approved note 7 is released or you can get the galaxy s7 or the s7 edge (not being able to get the note 7 again).
With both of them you'll get $25 as a gift card, in store credit or bill credit.
In addition to the recall Samsung is now advising all of its note 7 customers to turn off their phones for their own safety. We here at tech guide also advise you to fully take advantage of the Exchange program and get yourself a new Note 7 or a galaxy S7. Be safe everyone!
