Samsung dragged to court over an exploding phone, and its not the Note 7.

Samsung already experienced an embarrassing series of events but quickly rose up by offering a total recall for all the defected Note 7 units. However this time it wasn't the Note 7 that got Samsung into trouble but the galaxy S7 edge.

According to the report , The incident Happened when the Galaxy S7 was in ints owners right pocket while the owner himself was working on a construction site. The device starting "whistling, screeching and vibrating" and emitting smoke. When the owner tried to get rid of the phone, he suffered burns to his right hand.

And then the Unit exploded without any warning , catching fire in the pocket and causing second and third degree burns to the owner. He suffered severe and permanent injuries to his groin , legs and lower back that require a significant skin graft surgery.

It should also be noted that this incident took place on May 30th of this year (even before the Note 7 fiasco took place) but came to light just recently.

It is not yet clear whether this galaxy S7 unit had the same defective batteries from Samsung SDI in the Note 7 or if the Problem was in some other component of the phone. Thus Samsung has been dragged to court again and a lawsuit has been filed against them.
