Sony releases another compact device. The Sony Xperia X compact.

Sony today released another sony flagship, the Sony Xperia XZ. As it goes with sony devices , A compact accompanies the bigger flagship phone. Sony therefore also unveiled the Sony Xperia x compact.

This is a smaller version of the Xperia X and not the XZ so we're getting the same Snapdragon 650 as on the Xperia X and pretty much everything is the same except the screen size of course. In tems of waterproffing , sadly this does not have any kind of IP rating.The device is however thick at 9.5mm to accommodate the powerful hardware and large battery inside but thanks to the rounded profile of the phone it seems a lot thinner than it actually is.

The Xperia X compact is however not made of metal or glass and is constructed from plastic, Sony says that the design was ceramic inspired but that doesn't seem to be the case here. However being made of plastic the phone will definitely be a lot lighter which supports its compact design.

The Sony Xperia X compact will sport the snapdragon 650 , a 4.6 inch 720p screen and 3 gigs of ram. These specs are perfect for the size of the phone and given we're only working with a 720p screen , the performance should be much smoother.On the Optics side, the phone is equipped with a 23 megapixel rear shooter capable of shooting 4k video and a 5 megapixel front facing shooter for those selfies.

The Xperia X Compact also adopts the new trend of 2016 that is USB type C and not micro USB of years past. This also supports qualcolm's quickcharge technology for those times when time is at a leash.

The phone will be priced between the Sony xperia X and the Xpera X performance but the phone will launch very soon before the IFA expo so we'll hear about the price very soon.What do you think about the new compact device from Sony?
